For the love of Australian football. A tough, disciplined player, Brodie Holland has reinvented himself from an opportunistic forward into an effective tagger. Drafted as a 17-year-old in the 1997 National Draft by Fremantle, Brodie didn't waste any time to impress the Dockers' hierarchy, showing maturity rarely found at such a young age. After serving his apprenticeship at Fremantle, Brodie was traded to Collingwood at the end of 2000, the Magpies desperate to inject some quality into their midfield. Holland gave the Magpies excellent service in 2004 and registered his 100 th AFL game. Many more quality performances look like coming from Brodie in coming seasons.

. . . and feels like celebrating.
Carlos Moya defeated Andy Roddick 62 76(1) 76(5) to give Spain an unassailable 3-1 lead in this Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Final, a netted backhand return from Roddick after 2 hours 29 minutes of battle signalling the end of the US Challenge – for this year at least – and the start of a massive party for the hosts. This is seriously fucked up.
Outsports.com is being sued by a North Carolina man who said the website defamed him by running his picture in a photo gallery from the 2004 Los Angeles Marathon. Outsports is contesting the suit.On March 7, Harbinson was photographed stretching prior to the start of the Marathon by Outsports photographer Brent Mullins, who was credentialed to shoot the event. On March 22, Outsports ran Harbinson’s photo as part of a gallery of 150 images from the event, but did not use his name.
In his suit, Harbinson claims he is not gay and that his picture on Outsports caused him to suffer “extreme embarrassment, public humiliation, mental agony and damage to his name and reputation.” [Outsports]
Choire Sicha weigh in:
And, since he's now a figure in the news, due to his defamation lawsuit against gay sports website Outsports solely for printing his picture, he's given up an expectation of privacy. Which means the standard by which speech about him could be proven to be libelous is much less stringent. Basically I could call him a dumbass homophobic jackaninny and it wouldn't be actionable.
My thoughts. Fuck him. Not literally of course, because he's NOT GAY! Fuck him because he's an idiot. His photo is in a gallery of 150 photos of rather good looking men. He should be flattered for being deemed hot.

Canadian diving star Alexandre Despatie, was supposed to bring home two gold medals from this Olympics. He ended up only winning one silver.
He began the night (In the platform diving competition) in first place but never got there again. After his first dive, he dropped to second place. He was never that high in the standings again. His last three dives -- two of them just ordinary -- never saw him move from fourth place. The dive that took Despatie out of a very difficult competition was a back 3 1/2 somersault in the pike position. Following a familiar pattern of Canadians at the Games, that is normally a dive he makes. He missed. [London Free Press]
The score of 71.28 was the lowest of the night among the divers who challenged.
He can cry on my shoulder anytime.

Check out more of Marian at Hot Olympians.
Miscellanious trivia:
Apparently giving wedgies are big water polo tactic. There are only eleven athletes participating in the Olympics who are publicly out of the closet. The Gay Games VII in Chicago are only two years away.

All teammates should show this kind of love for each other. Go Greece!
Greece's Nikolaos Siranidis (L) and Thomas Bimis await the results of the men's synchronised 3 metre springboard final at the Athens 2005 Olympic Games August 16, 2004.
