Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to make this which upsets me to no end. I'm hoping there will be a second one.

Tsunami Kills Few Animals

The death toll in the Indian Ocean tsunami disaster soared above 125,000 on Thursday as millions scrambled for food and clean water and rumors of new waves sent many fleeing inland in panic.

"This is very interesting. I am finding bodies of humans, but I have yet to see a dead animal,'' said Wijeyeratne, whose hotel in the park was totally destroyed in Sunday's tidal surge.

"Maybe what we think is true, that animals have a sixth sense,'' Wijeyeratne said. [via CNN]

If you want to help the victims, survivors and the countries that were affected by the Tsunami, here are a few links in which to do so:

Chicago Gay Pride Parade

Other than the parade being extremely anti-Bush, there wasn't a whole lot to write home about. After years of viewing the parade, it felt like it was the same thing once again. I did manage to have a fun time, once the beer and vodka kicked in.

Here are more in depth views on the parade:
que(e)ries gives us a comprehensive rundown of the festivities.
Chiagoist brings us a blurb with a few photos.
Liquid Generation with the aftermath of the parade.

David Sedaris In Chicago

sedaris2All you fellow Chicago loving David Sedaris fans, make sure you're at Unabridged Books tonight, because Mr. Sedaris will be there at 7 p.m. Or if that's not good for you then Saturday at Barbara's Bookstore in Oak Park at 7 p.m.

If you have never experienced Mr. Sedaris in person, you must go. The man reading his own works is hilarious. I'm a huge fan. You also must pick up his new book Dress Your Family In Corduroy and Denim." Simply brilliant!
